A Training Programme for the Catechism Teachers of First Holy Communion and Confirmation Catechism was held on 24 May 2026 at the Pastoral Institute, Bajjodi, organized by Mangala Jyothi, Commission for Faith Formation, under the guidance of Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of the Diocese of Mangalore.
The resource person, Rev. Dr Gilbert Choondal, conducted practical and interactive sessions for 64 catechists who participated enthusiastically in the programme.
The training focused on effective catechetical methods, prayer formation, sacramental preparation, creative activities, and parental involvement in the faith formation of children preparing for First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
The programme renewed the zeal and confidence of the catechists in their ministry. The organizers also expressed gratitude to all the Parish Priests and Catechism Parish Coordinators for their continued support and cooperation.
